Women Who Code Belfast is BACK! 🎉

We are super excited to announce we will be reviving our in-person events with our Bytes n' Brew morning meet-up. This event is kindly being hosted by Allstate Northern Ireland.

Bytes n' Brew is a social morning event, a relaxed space designed to give our community an opportunity for conversations and connections around busy/work-life schedules. Pop in before work or class to make new friends in the community, ask others for career advice, coding help or mentoring.

We all have issues with conflict now and again. When the case is the behaviour of others, it can be challenging and stressful as a leader to navigate both for ourselves and among our team members. Too often, we fear upsetting the other person. However, internalising problems causes us to behave differently toward the other person. We also start to label that person as 'bad' and seek evidence to support this, thus damaging the relationship in the long run.

What happens when the conflict affects your team? What can you do when it is due to cultural differences? How do you explain poor performance or resignations of crucial talent due to internal conflicts, within your team or with others, that have failed to be resolved?

Come one, come all to the Northern Ireland Raspberry Jam!In collaboration with the School of Physics and Mathematics at Queen's and the Northern Ireland Raspberry Jam team, these free monthly events involve tinkering, coding, electronics and generally just having a stack of fun making stuff!

We are back with another in-person event hosted by DIGIT Games Studios. We will have a couple of talks followed by a free-structured evening where people can code on their own projects, ask for help, chat and network.

The EDI group of the UCD College of Engineering and Architecture is thrilled to showcase the incredible career pathways of women in engineering and their remarkable contributions to the field. Mark your calendars for June 23rd and join us in Room 326 of the Engineering and Architecture Building at UCD.

The “Empowering Women to Lead Cyber Security” programs were established in 2021 with the aim of supporting the creation of a community of empowered and empowering female leaders in cyber and information assurance roles across the UK. Less than a year on and with the support of techUK and the Northern Ireland Cyber Security Centre, alongside our industry partners, we are now able to celebrate the graduation of the latest cohort of emerging cyber leaders from across Northern Ireland.

On the 26th of June, the graduates will gather together to present the outputs from their last three months of “Challenge” work, in front of an audience of their peers and the broader cyber community . These “Challenges” represent some of the key issues facing society and the cyber eco-system that the profession can help to address and have been an invaluable opportunity for the participants to collaborate and grow as a group.

Launch of TIA's Tech initiative (Tech Ireland Advocates) which is the Ireland Chapter of of the Global Tech Advocates (GTA) network. This initiative aims to support the next generation of entrepreneurs and start-up founders within underrepresented communities in Ireland by bringing speakers who are experts in a topic area to share their insights, thoughts and findings.

We plan to hold events across Tech hubs in Ireland, thereby improving connected-ness by bringing Tech Ireland Advocates to the whole of Ireland (not just Dublin) and get people to tap into the network.
